Add a 12 week BROWNS Demi Pair experience to your English language program.
Duration: 12 weeks Demi Pair program* (minimum 10 weeks English course at BROWNS)
Start Dates: Any point during your studies at BROWNS
Requirements:
- Minimum pre-intermediate level of English
- Completed Demi Pair Application Form and BROWNS Application Form.
- Police check from the student's home county (provided in English).
- Completed Queensland Government New Customer Application (individual) required to submit the Working with Children Check (Blue Card) Application upon arrival to Queensland, Australia.
- Student introduction letter with a minimum of three pictures of the student with children, family and friends
- 2 x Official Identification which include the students photo (passport copy + one other form of identification*). E.g:
- Foreign passport + temporary visa + student identity document or,
- Foreign passport + temporary visa + Debit or credit card (must include signature and embossed or printed name)

Description:
- As a Demi pair you will work (unpaid) as a part-time, live-in housekeeper while attending English lessons at BROWNS during the day
- Your host family will provide you with 12 weeks accommodation in a private room, three meals per day, and free time on weekends.
- You will be required to work (unpaid) 15 hours per week, Monday to Friday.
- Our Demi Pair Manager will give you an orientation on arrival, telephone contact every week and support whenever necessary.
- Program includes Airport pick-up included
- Your application must be made at least 10 weeks prior to commencement at BROWNS and may be approved following a virtual interview.
- Accepting both female and male students from a broad range of ages.
Offshore Package* (12 weeks):
The offshore package is for students applying from overseas. This schedule allows time to settle in, learn routine and obtain Blue Card / Working With Children Check. Candidates must provide Police Check from home country. Candidates must not assist with any child related tasks until Blue Card has been approved.
House Keeper role - first two weeks.
10 hours per week assisting the family with the following:
- Assisting with cleaning and housework.
- Cleaning and tidying common areas.
- Assisting with meal preparation for family.
Demi Pair role - 10 weeks
15 hours per week assisting the family with the following:
- Helping with children in the morning, after school and at dinner and bath times.
- Assisting with cleaning and housework.
- Cleaning and tidying children’s rooms.
- Assisting with meal preparation and feeding young children.
- Reading stories and playtime.
- Baby-sitting during the week.
Onshore Package (12 weeks):
Suitable for onshore applicants with valid Blue Card/Working with Children's Check.
Demi Pair role - 12 weeks
15 hours per week assisting the family with the following:
- Helping with children in the morning, after school and at dinner and bath times.
- Assisting with cleaning and housework.
- Cleaning and tidying children’s rooms.
- Assisting with meal preparation and feeding young children.
- Reading stories and playtime.
- Baby-sitting during the week.
