Description:

  • 3 volunteer programs to choose from: Child Care, Retirement Village or Japanese Teacher Assistant (unpaid volunteer)
  • Unique workplace opportunity in Brisbane
  • 20-35 hours per week (Monday - Friday)
  • Placements will be within 45 minutes travel time (on average) to/from your accommodation
  • Work experience with local community

Duration:

1-6 weeks volunteer program (Minimum 5 weeks study at BROWNS)

Start Dates and Availability:

On completion of your BROWNS course or during a structured break (6 weeks notice required).

Japanese Teacher Assistant volunteer role is not available during school term break periods:
4th March - 15th March 2019
6th April - 22nd April 2019
29th June - 14th July 2019
21st September - 7th October 2019
14th December - 27th January 2020

Requirements:

  • Available in Brisbane only
  • Applicant must be 20 years or older
  • Minimum strong pre-intermediate English level or above when commencing the volunteer program
  • Minimum 5 weeks study at BROWNS
  • Valid Working holiday visa or Student visa
  • Submission of a completed BROWNS Volunteer Application form, blue card application
  • Federal Police certificate and 1 page resume required for Retirement Village Volunteer
  • Students can stay in the BROWNS Student Apartment OR Homestay will be organised by the provider (RK Global Education Pty Ltd)

Volunteer Program Fees:

Placement fee $770 (inc GST)
*All Retirement Village Volunteers will be charged an additional $42 Police Certificate Application Fee
