What is the Junior Holiday Program?
BROWNS’ Junior Holiday Program runs across three intake periods each year in Brisbane, the Gold Coast and Melbourne, Australia. It’s unlike any English program your child has tried before.
- January to February (1–6 weeks)
- March (1 week)
- July-August (1-6 weeks)
Each week combines 15 hours of engaging English classes with activities and excursions six days a week. Your child won’t just sit in a classroom – they’ll practise their English at the zoo, in a museum, on river cruise, at a theme park, and at other cultural landmarks that bring language to life. Learning happens in context, in conversation, and in the middle of genuine adventure.
A typical week in Brisbane might include a visit to the SparkLab Science Museum, a full-day trip to Australia Zoo, Indigenous Art workshops, and a River Cruise. On the Gold Coast, students may explore Sea World, enjoy a kayak tour, visit the Q1 SkyPoint Observation Deck, and take part in Aussie-themed games and cooking classes. Melbourne students might spend a day at Melbourne Zoo, explore ACMI, ice-skate, take a ferry ride, and visit the Queen Victoria Market. Each week is different.
Who Is the Junior Holiday Program For?
The program is open to children and teenagers aged 6 to 17. Children aged 6 to 11 join our Primary School Preparation+ (PSP+) program, with age-appropriate classes and activities, and parent or guardian check-in and check-out each day. Teenagers aged 12 to 17 join the Junior Holiday Program (JHP) designed to build independence and confidence, with caring staff and a structured environment that parents can trust completely.
Your child can join for as little as one week or stay for up to six weeks across the January–February or July–August intake periods, or join us for a focused one-week program in March. Whether you’re planning ahead for the summer holidays or looking for a shorter experience, we have a duration that fits your family.
